April 29, 2022 – In its 23 years of creating communities, Property Company of Friends, Inc. (PRO-FRIENDS) has, through the years, continuously improved and innovated on the design of its projects. In 2007, PRO-FRIENDS built its flagship project, Lancaster New City Cavite, with the vision of a complete community that enjoys the live, learn, work, play, and pray lifestyle.

The birth of St. Edward School (SES) in 2012 turned the “learn” factor into flesh, allowing quality education within the families’ reach. “You would all agree with me that education is a treasure that secures the future generation. As parents, it is our greatest ‘pamana’ to our children,” said PRO-FRIENDS Chairman Guillermo Choa during the school’s inauguration program.

This year, as the school celebrates its 10th founding anniversary, it has achieved so much in such a short time for its K t 12 students. Banking on its hashtag, #EdwardianExcellence, St. Edward School has excelled in different fields, having been recognized in various academic, sports, culture and arts, youth leadership, and in campus journalism competitions. Just recently, St. Edward School received its trophy from the 43rd Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) for The Estoile, as the Best Student Organ – Grade School.

St. Edward School also opened the doors of its first Alumni Café this year. A venue where students and alumni can gather to exchange their ideas about the community. “[The school] teaches you the basics of education; it is out here that we learn with each other, and we share ideas. Magtagisan kayo ng talino,” Choa said.

PRO-FRIENDS ties up with the school in outreach activities and even has its key officers acting as mentors for the students in learning sessions. The students and teachers are, likewise, constantly present in the various homeowner-led activities of Galing LNC – tree planting, vaccination and community pantry during the quarantine period, and disaster relief operations, among others.

As the school gears up to a new shift of learning coming from the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Edward School continues to embrace flexibility. “St. Edward School had to make important decisions and changes from traditional to digital learning,” said SES Principal Dr. John Cabalo. While the school preparations for limited face-to-face classes are underway, he also gave a glimpse of the school’s long-term post-pandemic plans: “Online learning is going to stay, and will be part of learning modality in the post-pandemic period. We can’t go away from it,” Dr. Cabalo said, emphasizing that the situation of education is in VUCA which stands for volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous.
